Role Overview

As a Working Student DevOps Engineer, you work closely with our AI engineering team to build, maintain, and improve deployment pipelines for our AI systems.You gain hands-on experience with containerization, automation, cloud infrastructure, and real-time systems in a fast-moving AI environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support CI/CD pipelines using GitLab

  • Build, test, and maintain Docker images and containerized services

  • Assist in deploying microservices across cloud environments

  • Maintain internal development tooling, scripts, monitoring dashboards, and environment automation

  • Assist in documentation of DevOps processes, deployment guidelines, and platform maintenance

  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures, container-level issues, access/token problems, and environment issues

  • Design and implement automation solutions using SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, Power BI, Power Automate (Flow), and Microsoft Teams to streamline workflows, improve data visibility, and enhance operational efficiency

 

Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field

  • Strong understanding of Linux, shell scripting, and system administration

  • Experience with Docker and container-based development

  • Basic familiarity with Git, GitLab or GitHub, and CI/CD concepts

  • Some experience with Python environment setup

  • Interest in DevOps, MLOps, cloud automation, or AI workflows

  • Ability to work with Microsoft 365 automation tools, including SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, Power BI, Power Automate, and Microsoft Teams

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions

  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes or container orchestration

  • Experience building internal tools or automation scripts

 

What to Expect

  • ~10 hours per week, compatible with university schedules

  • Hybrid work model. Remote work within Germany possible.

  • Direct collaboration with experienced AI and DevOps engineers

  • Real responsibility within production systems

  • Semester-based role (starting March 1st), with the option to grow further
